This project’s aim was to explore the concept of authorship within design, and was accompanied by an essay, where the two had to bare relation to each other. The essay explored the work of contemporary Irish artists and designers, where their work related to cultural and political heritage. The practical element consisted of 4 posters denoting definitions of Irish language words (Gaelige) that do not directly translate to English, endeavouring to explore my own heritage and the linguistics associated with it. The visual language used aims to put a modern coating on an older cultural component as a nod to the revival of the language in the last 5 years in Ireland.
